Heather “Naysayerz” Dower joins British Esports Advisory Board

We are delighted to announce that Heather “Naysayerz” Dower, presenter, caster and stage host, has joined the British Esports Association’s Advisory Board.

She is well-known in UK esports having worked with the likes of Ginx TV, Multiplay and others, hosting the likes of the Daily Download show, Insomnia esports tournaments and more. She replaces sports industry executive Sophie Goldschmidt on the board, who has relocated to the US.

Heather will be calling in to the next British Esports Advisory Board meeting which takes place in October.

Heather said:

“I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Advisory Board. Having been heavily involved in many aspects of British esports for several years, I hope to bring my knowledge and passion to the board to assist with the work that the association currently does.

“I have always believed that esports is a powerful space that can be used to enrich the community, something I will endeavour to do as a part of the association.”

The British Esports Association was formed last year to support grassroots esports in Britain. Heather joins its Advisory Board which was formed in late 2015 and consists of other experienced esports personalities, including Team Dignitas president  Michael “ODEE” O’Dell, host Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner, player Ryan Hart, writer Philippa Warr and more.

The board meets several times each year to discuss developments and areas of focus for the British Esports Association, and to offer their input and expertise. See more info on the board here.

British Esports is a not-for-profit association that aims to promote esports in the UK, increase its level of awareness, improve the standard of UK esports and to inspire future talent. We hope to help educate children, parents, teachers, government and the media around what esports is, to explain its benefits and the career opportunities it offers.

Over the past year, the Association has pioneered the first library pilot esports scheme with Westminster Council to introduce young people to esports, launched a website full of esports careers advice, worked with researchers, educational institutions and the media on esports coverage and research, and we have started work on a membership offering.
